Update from Tierra Del Fuego. 65 miles to go to Ushuaia
We made it to the island of Tierra del Fuego a few days ago and are currently in the small tourist town of Tolhuin, Argentina. We only have 65 miles until the other End of this Adventure; Ushuaia!!!
The weather has been very challenging lately. Some of the days have featured the ever so pleasant just above freezing temperatures with a refreshing rain. The few days that it has not rained, the temperature was in the 20’s if not even cooler. Lets put it this way, it was so cold on our ride into Tolhuin that Matt’s beard had icicles on it. See photo below. We have been asked before what is the worst weather to ride in and the answer is most definitely temps just above freezing with rain.
We are spending the day relaxing here at the Casa de Ciclistas (House of Cyclists) that is part of the Panaderia (Bakery) La Union. Tomorrow we plan to head onwards to the end of the road, El Fin de Mundo, Ushuaia. The forecast calls for snow, what a fitting end to an incredible trip.
One last time for the Bicycle Cowboys to saddle up on the ol’ steeds!!!
